Artist Profile

Nancy J. Davis was raised on a cattle ranch on the plains, riding horseback under big dramatic skies, which influenced her artistic direction. When not in her Albuquerque studio, she travels to different locations to paint outdoors. Vital to her work is the continual observation and working from life, either outdoors or with a model in the studio. Nancy is a member of the Bettina Steinke Studio Group in Santa Fe.

“I was raised on a New Mexico cattle ranch and enjoy riding, working cattle and being in the landscape. Landscape, animals, and the people who work the land continue to be favorite subjects of mine. I want my paintings to express my respect and appreciation for unspoiled nature and for life.
